How to make twine wrapped letters

Home decor is an important element to making any home feel like your own. However, we all know that home decor can be expensive! Lately, I have been seeing decorative letters at stores like Anthropology and Pottery Barn.  I decided to make my own version though at a much cheaper price!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. block letters (I purchased mine from JoAnn’s at very reasonable price.)
  2. Twine or Jute string
  3. decorative buttons
  4. scissors
  5. hot glue gun

*Important note* Each letter will be a little bit different when it comes to wrapping it with the twine.

First, take the twine and cut it into 3 inch long pieces in order to cover the edges of the letter. As you cover the edges of the letter it should look something like this. Use the hot glue gun to secure the pieces of twine to the letter.

After you have glued the twine down to the ends of the letter you can begin to wrap the twine around the letter. Periodically you should use some glue as you’re wrapping the twine to better secure the twine.

Make sure that you wrap the twine tightly so that gaps are not left between the twine.

Good luck making your twine letter! If you have any questions on how to make a twine letter or if you have any ideas of other ways to make decorative letters, let me know!

Happy Crafting!
